free fall

I would ask you, do you know what a free fall feels like?

Thrilling, terrifying?

There are no 2 identical opinions.

You feel the blood pressure dancing in your eardrums, your heart wants to find a way out of your chest, you hold on for dear life, feel the wind whipping through your hair. There is nothing but you and that moment, that feeling of being pulled towards the ground, being unable to fight the force of gravity.

But that moment also gives you the chance to detach yourself from the surrounding world, go to a place where there is no noise, no feelings, nothing. Just freedom. Pure, unaltered freedom.

Maybe that's why it's called free fall. No strings attached. Just you!

For me this fall is the equivalent of the drop of death. I freak out whenever I even see a roller coaster, let alone ride one (which I did just because the girl I liked at the moment was a roller coaster freak - when will I learn?). So there I was, in the front row no less, waiting for the ride to end. I was squeezing the handle bars like there was no tomorrow (enduring 2 more weeks of aching wrist - just to get a picture of how I was squeezing those babies), then came that awful ascend, a very slooooooooooow ascend, we reach the top and there it was - the giant DROP...about 160 feet (50 m) worth of drop and you end up underground (it's built like that, you are not going to Hell - although the ride is called Hades - catchy)...and while people were screaming their heads off in delight/fright i was praying - please end it soon, please please please....and it was over...i am aliveeeeeee!

But of course if I ever get to Disneyland, I sure as Hell will ride one, even if I add soome grey hairs. I'm sure it will be worth it!

And since I truly hate roller coasters, imagine me watching Final Destination 3! Now that's comedy!
